| GeoInfo One- Stop System
(GOS) |
Brief Description:
One of the project objectives of the Planning Department GeoInfo One-Stop System
is to provide Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based Web services for other bureaux and departments of HKSARG to access Planning Department’s geographical information system (GIS) data and functions related to statutory planning information. XML is a new generation of computer language format specially designed for data exchange between computer systems. The service facilitates other government department to develop programs to ingest planning information into their application systems and it offers a way for your application systems without hosting the data or developing own application modules to retrieve up-to-date planning information. The XML GIS planning data are provided "real time", in the sense that they are updated as timely as they are disseminated.
PlanD Web services are Intranet applications that use data and searching functions and enable application developers to integrate our searching functions into their own Web applications without having to build or host the functionality locally.
